Over 41 colleges and universities are located within the Dallas Metropolitan area. WalletHub named Dallas the fifth most diverse city in the United States in 2018.
The Dallas area is a major destination for Mexican Americans and Hispanic and Latin American immigrants and Black and African Americans. The notable influx of African Americans is partly due to the New Great Migration.
